Community and Environment
Giving Back
Without the local community we are nothing, they provided alot of support in the early days, they provide our staff, we take their children to school and they have to put up with our fleet of coaches hogging the road. So we try and put back as much as we take.

Environment
We like to protect not only the global environment, but most importantly that of the local community. We have various measures in place:
- Stopping Fuel Spills: monitored, double skin fuel bunkering with fully drain filtered system on our fuelling bays.
- Emissions: constant investment in the newest coaches, bring Euro V technology to our fleet.
- Sound and Noise Pollution: we have an out of town depot located away from housing. We have created a landscape barrier around our depot perimeter (which incidentally is immaculately maintained, probably the only coach company in the world who use greenthumb® to maintain their lawns! Well its the detail that matters to us).
- Recycling: during our daily valetting of the fleet we come across a mountain of litter, which is dealt with by our waste management contractor.
- Fuel Efficiency: one of the key factors we consider when evaluating new vehicles is their MPG figures. As well as this our drivers are taught as part of their development updates how to drive them to their most efficient potential, also unlike many others we do not tolerate engines being on “tick over” with just a driver on board. In fact we encourage reports on this from the public.
- Utilities: one of the benefits of a state of the art ops. centre means, we have fully insulated, double glazed drivers rest areas, offices, stores etc with a carefully climate controlled ventilation system.
- Water: we wash our coaches with an efficient Smith Bros. STRONG drive through coach wash which uses a calculated programme for each vehicle size to reduce wastage. Unfortunately we cannot recycle water during the wash cycle as we are in an extremely hard water area (we even have built a filtration system/plant in the depot to prevent minute streaks on our vehicles when they dry!).
